Imphal, September 24 2017: KLASA, Keinou eked out a hard fought 2-1 win over Zalen FC, Sadar Hills in the ongoing 12th Manipur State League underway at the Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak today .

The State League is being organised by All Manipur Football Association and sponsored by Khumukcham Ingocha Singh Memorial Trust .

The league resumed today after it was suspended for some time following the incessant rain that lashed the State in the last couple of days .

With today’s win, KLASA have received a boost to its campaign in the ongoing league .

Interestingly match officials of today’s match confiscated the mobile phones used by KLASA officials to enforce the earlier directives issued by AMFA to ban use of mobile phones inside the stadium during match hours .

Making its intention clear from the first minute, the forward line of KLASA was all over the field making some incisive runs down the flank and took control of the mid field .

Barely into the 6th minute of the first half, KLASA received its break through following a misunderstanding between the custodian of Zalen FC and a defender and N Sunilkumar who was lurking nearby managed to tap the ball to Jerry Onesemas Pulamte, who made no mistake in finding the target .

KLASA clung on to their one goal advantage till the lemon break, despite some good moves from the players of Zalen FC .

After the breather, FC Zalen put more men in the attack and this paid dividends as their forward line began to find the crack in the defence line of KLASA .

Effectively using both flanks, FC Zalen stretched the defence line of KLASA and off one such incisive move, earned a free kick in the 86th minute on the right flank.

Imran Khan of FC Zalen released a well measured kick and Lamgoulen who was well placed managed to outjump the defenders of KLASA and head it home to equalise the score .

The joy of FC Zalen was however shortlived as in the dying minutes of the match KLASA won a free kick and S Dhananjoy who took the kick did well to drop it near the goal mouth of FC Zalen making way for Nanao .

Nanao who was well positioned literally rose to the occasion and managed to guide the ball into the far net with his head to help KLASA take the match by the margin of 2-1 .
