Imphal, December 23 2024: CYCLONE, Thangmeiband extended their winning run to two games in Group A match of the 21st Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament as they beat SNC, Sangaiprou by 9 runs at Langthabal Public Ground today.

Having beaten LCC, Lamsang in the previous match, CYCLONE rode on Dhanendrajit (3/25) and Surjit (2/26) to restrict SNC to 150 all out after posting 159 runs for all wickets down in 24.1 overs.

Arun topscored for CYCLONE who opted to bat first as Surjit added 20 runs, and Robinson and Nongdren scored identical 18 runs in the innings that saw Romeshchandra pick three wickets (3/16) and the trio of Maison (2/29), Rajesh (2/26) and Yaipharemba (2/13) shared 6 wickets for SNC.

For SNC, Thawai 29, Ronel 27 and Romesh 20 were the leading run scorers before they collapsed at 150 in 28.2 overs.

Dhanendrajit who led the CYCLONE bowling charge was declared man of the match.
