Thoudam Dayanand wins 2nd DCA U-15 Open Rapid Chess Tournament title

Imphal, March 23 2025:
Thoudam Dayanand of Shishu Nistha Niketan won five time and drew once in 6 rounds to seal the title of the 2nd DCA U-15 Open Rapid Chess Tournament organised by D Chess Academy at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai.
Dayanand secured as many as 5.5 points to finish atop after 6 rounds as Moirangthem Williamba of Kindergarten Montessori School (5 pts) and Nandeibam Jonex of St Joseph's Hr Secondary School (5 pts) finished second and third.
Heritage Convent's Elangbam Mangal (4.5 pts) and Elangbam Prichard (4.5 pts) were declared fourth and fifth place holders of the tournament that saw a healthy participation of 42 players including 11 rated players and 7 girls from across 20 schools.

Sougaijam Nadia (4.5 pts) of Heritage Convent was meanwhile adjudged best girl player as Yumnam Yaiphaba of St Joseph's Hr Secondary School and Nameirakpam Lorena of Pitambara English School finished best U-11 boy and girl players.
Thounaojam Favein of UNACCO School, Khongman and Yambem Jasmita of Little Flower School were meanwhiled declared best U-9 boy and girl players as Maibam Einstein Khuman of RM School and Hanjabam Rajasmita of Nirmalabas High School were named best DCA players.
The valedictory function of the 2-day tournament was attended by social worker Aribam Amarjit Sharma and Dr Sougaijam Priyokumar, secretary of D Chess Academy as presidium members, said D Chess Academy in a statement.
