SSC beat ETL to lift BK Trophy

Imphal, February 22 2015: SSC, Irilbung registered a convincing 96 runs win against ETL, Thongju to clinch the BK Trophy title, the 6th State level open tennis ball cricket tournament organised by Young Crickets, Bamon Kampu at Irilbung High School ground.

In today's final, put into bat first, William's half century and Marjing's confident 40 helped SSC to pose a competitive 166 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs.

SSC's Sunil and Rahul also contributed 22 and 19 runs respectively.

ETL's Bingoon managed to take two wickets while Deepu, Roland and Gugu took one wicket each.

In reply, the ETL players started well with Kishan blasting 18 runs in 5 balls and Somorjit striking 13 of 13 but SSC's bowlers made enough effort to bowl them all out with just 70 runs in 14 overs.

SSC's Robertson took 4 wickets while Lamba and Nicky took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

A cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 along with a trophy were awarded to the team champion SSC, Irilbung and runner's up team ETC, Thongju respectively.

The man of the series title along with a cash prize of Rs 4000 went to ETL's Lincoln while William was adjudged the man of the match and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 2000 along with a trophy.

Th closing ceremony was graced by former MLA Th Nandakishore, Bamon Kampu Pradhan Th Bhubon and Nongin Integrated Business Solution Pvt Ltd Managing Director Lenin Hirom as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
