Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament YWC beat NAPSA by 8 wickets to cruise into semis

Imphal, March 21 2018: The last Group A league match of the 6th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2017-18 being organised by All Manipur Veteran Cricket Association at Model Higher Secondary School and Oriental College ground saw YWC, Langthabal secure an emphatic 8 wicket victory over NAPSA, Kha Imphal and cruised into the last four stage.

They will meet KSC, Old Lambulane in the last semi final match on March 23 .

NAPSA, Kha Imphal made a sluggish start after winning the toss.

The bowlers of the Langthabal side successfully maintained an average economy though they could not take wickets in right time.

It was Ratan who fetched the highest run for NAPSA making 20 off 28 balls.

Goutam, Surjit and Somendro then scored 15, 14 and 13 runs each to make it 103 for 7 at the end of the first inning.

Ch Kumar of the Langthabal side claimed 2 wickets in 4 overs in this inning while Premchandra picked up one in 3 overs.

Priyokumar and Gojen also dismissed one wicket apiece.

The chase was not a hard one as the Langthabal side reached the target in 16 overs for the loss of 2 wickets.

Gojendro led the batting front of YWC and struck an unbeaten 38 in 45 balls.

Sachikanta also gathered another 35 runs before he fell down in the 22nd delivery.

Kumarjit and Manaobi also contributed 26 runs and helped their team romp to an 8 wicket victory.

Gojendro of YWC was adjudged man of the match.

CYCLONE, Thangmei-band will lock horns with CCC, Chajing in the first semi final match of the tournament on March 22 at the same venue.
