U-16 Boys Cricket : Punshiba scalps 6 as YUCC thrash KCDO by 136 runs

Imphal, January 20 2020: PCC, Mayaikoibi thumped ESU, Wangkhei by 49 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground in a Group A league match of the ongoing 2nd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningth ou Memorial Trophy 2020 as YUCC, Kwakeithel overwhelmed KCDO, Kongpal by 13 6 runs at Model Higher Secondary and Oriental College ground in another Group A league match today.

In the match played at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground, PCC set up a meagre target of 114 runs for 8 in 30 overs but ESU bundled out with only 64 runs on the board during the chase in 21.3 overs.

Vikash hit the highest 37 runs for PCC in the first innings after his team won the toss and elected to bat first.

Ronaldo was the pick of ESU bowler as he managed 5 wickets alone to hold the Mayaikoibi side to a paltry score but their chase proved to be the worst chase as Ronaldo was the top scorer with 22 runs before the team collapsed at 64 runs.

Themission of PCC who managed 11 runs in their innings emerged man of the match as he equalled Ronald's effort in bowling by removing 5 crucial wickets while Pravin and Bijay Mahto too added teeth to the bowling attack and picked up two wickets each.

Meanwhile at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, YUCC set up a huge target of 173 runs for 9 in 30 overs thanks to M Kadamjit's knock of 69 runs in 65 balls before restricting KCDO to just 37 runs in 13.5 overs.

Ringku shone as KCDO bowlers in the first innings scalping 4 wickets after YUCC won the toss and chose to bat first while Manglemba and Malem claimed two wickets each before experiencing a horrible chase.

Manglemba was the only double digit scorer with 22 runs in his name in the disastrous chase for KCDO as Punshiba wreaked havoc with pace and accuracy and finished with the best figure of 6 for 5 in 3.5 overs.

Bikash also bowled well and picked up three wickets in 5 overs to help YUCC seal a huge win.

Punshiba of YUCC was eventually named man of the match.
