Ashokumar FC claim 4th Sabungkhok Cup title

Imphal, January 20 2019: Ashokumar FC, Yaingangpokpi emerged the champions of 4th Sabungkhok Cup organized by Youth and Students Welfare Club, Sabungkhok at Sabungkhok Kangjeibung today.

Ashokumar FC and Mangal FA-A played out a 1-1 draw during regulation and the game was stretched to penalty shoot-out where also the two sides failed to find the difference.

Following the tournament conduct rules, the winners were decided by flipping of a coin wherein Ashokumar FC came out on top to claim the title.

It was a neck and neck affair during normal time as Sanamacha of Mangal FA-A's goal in the 15th minute was levelled in the 26th minute by Sudhir before the match end in a 1-1 draw.

In the penalty shoot-out, Naoba, Boycha, Sanamacha, Angousana, Prafullo and Roshan scored for Ashokumar FC while Stelin, Annaroy, Sanamacha, Kiran, Toper and Surendra scored for Mangal FA.

Winners Ashokumar FC were honoured with a cash prize of Rs 35,000 while runners up Mangal FA-A were settled for the cash prize of Rs 20,000.Moirang Kampu team emerged best disciplined team and bagged a cash prize of Rs 3,000 .

Best Player, Suraj of YMWC-A, Best Goalkeeper Meiraba of Mangal FA-A and Top Scorer Sunder of Ashokumar FC were also encourage with Rs 1,000 each.
