ELSA hold UKCCL in Bpr First Division League

Imphal, December 19 2018: ELSA, Naransena were held to a 1-1 draw by UKCCL, Oinam in a Group B league match of the 5th H Pishak Memorial 1st Division Football League 2018 being organised under the supervision of District Sports Association, Bishnupur at Mini Stadium, Bishnupur.

ELSA, Naransena and UKCCL, Oinam produced a very competitive first half as both were looking for their first win in the competition but failed to find the breakthrough to go into the break goalless.

ELSA however made amends of their earlier lapses and entered the field with more purpose after the restart and it was in the 38th minute that Krishnananda ended the goal drought and gave ELSA a 1-0 lead.

UKCCL also made a positive approach and started looking for gap with wise use of the midfielders and the flanks and their efforts paid off in the 62nd minute when Rojit beat the keeper and levelled the score.

Despite frenetic attempts from both ends to slot in the winner in the latter stage, the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

ELSA's L Premchandra (12')andMRohit(62')were yellow carded by the referee.

MCK, Kabow Wakching will face GDC, Thinungei in another Group B league match tomorrow at 3 pm .
