X Polo Club emerge champions of 2nd IE District Polo Tournament

Imphal, January 19 2022:
X Polo Club beat defending champions Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A (CHPC-A) by 5-3 goals to lift the title trophy of the 2nd Imphal East District Polo Tournament organised at Yairipok Top Chingtha and Ningthounai Kangjeibung under the aegis of Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association.
Leishemba Takhellamba took centre-stage in this match as he scored a treble for X-Polo Club.
X-Polo Club got off to a cautious start and galloped to a 2-0 first chukker lead with P Ojit and Leishemba hammered home a goal each.

H Muhindro pulled a goal back for the defending champions within a minute into the second chukker but Leishemba completed his double in the moments before the four minute mark to help X-Polo Club retain the two goal cushion.
L Thomson scored another for CHPC-A in the 5th minute of the same chukker to make it 2-3 till halfway.
X-Polo raced ahead to a 4-2 lead in the third chukker with Th Jacob adding a goal before Leishemba struck his third in the 4th chukker to make it 5-2 .
O Rozer also found a goal for CHPC-A late in the last minute but it was too late for them to come back and eventually X-Polo Club ran out 5-3 winners.
