Sub-Junior Boys Basketball Nationals : Manipur suffer 57-24 loss to Assam

Imphal, December 18 2024: Manipur suffered a 57-24 loss in the final group F match of the SubJunior Boys National Basketball Championship hosted by Telangana Basketball Association in Hyderabad under the aegis of the Basketball F ederation of India.

Assam lads dominated throughout the game and were leading 18-6, 25-12, 38-20 in the first three periods before closing out the game 57-24 to finish Group runners up.

Manipur meanwhile finished third in the league round with the only win against Odisha on the opening day.

Nilbir Saikia 20 and Ayush Rai 18 played pivotal roles in Assam's win as Jatharth 9, Neeraj 7, Abhijit 2 and Akshaj Goutham 1 made up the remaining points.

Th Sotindrachan meanwhile led the scoring for Manipur today adding 9 points as K Anderson added 5 points.

Th Billgates and Th Gison meanwhile added 3 points apiece while P Shriyans and Mangalsana contributed 2 points apiece.

Manipur will now play Group C runners up Gujarat in a looser knock-out stage round match tomorrow morning.

The match starts at 8 am .
