61st National School Games - Thang ta Manipur assured of overall team champion title

Imphal, December 18 2015 : Manipur are assured of clinching the overall team champion title after winning 16 gold in the 61st National School Games - Under -14&17 Boys and Girls Thang-Ta, organised by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (DYAS), Khuman Lampak under the aegis of School Games Federation of India, today at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

In today's U-17 girl's category, K Rani Devi (Manipur) clinched a gold medal while Seema (Delhi), Rini Nath (Tripura) settled for silver and bronze medal.

In the 48 kg event, A Purnimashi Devi (Manipur), Pratigya (Delhi) and Rutuja Bajirao Mane (Maharashtra) won gold, silver and bronze medal.

Chouhan Khusboo (Gujarat) clinched a gold medal in the 52 kg group while K Reny Devi (Manipur) and Sakshi (Delhi) bagged a silver and bronze medal respectively.

In the 56 kg group, Rebina Salam (Manipur) lifted the gold medal while Rajut Mansi (Gujarat) and Minarshi (Delhi) secured a silver and bronze medal respectively.

Riya (Haryana), Ashani (Maharashtra) and Shyaluxmi Likmabam (Manipur) respectively won gold, silver and a bronze medal respectively.

In the boy's group, H Manganleiba Meetei (Manipur) - gold, Harshit (Haryana) - silver and Sushanta Sarkar (Assam) - bronze were the winners in the 48 kg event.

In the 52 kg category, K Sushilkumar Singh (Manipur), Rishabh Raj (Delhi) and Aniket Ramesh (Assam) won gold, silver and bronze respectively.

W Prithibiraj (Manipur) claimed a gold medal in the 56 kg event while Yash Bhardwaj (Haryana) and Neeraj Yadav (Vidya Bharti) settled for a silver and bronze.

In the 65 kg group, N Lamyanba Mangang (Manipur), Yashpal (Delhi) and Nishant Sharadpuri (Maharashtra) won gold, silver and bronze respectively.

Suchetan (Maharashtra) - gold, Gaurav Mallik (Haryana) - silver and S Punshingamba (Manipur) - bronze were the winners in the 70 kg event.
