MNCA U-14 cricket: PTRC, CDC, ESU enjoy big wins

Imphal, July 18 2022:
PTRC (Patsoi Part IV) CDC (Sagolband) and ESU (Wangkhei) were easy winners in the Monday matches of the 1st MNCA U-I4 Boys Tournament.
Robinson Sougaijam smashed 156 as Henba Paonam picked up 6 wickets to steer PTRC to a massive 257 run win over AKSDO (Khangabok) at PCC Ground, Mayaikoibi.
Robinson's blistering knock of 156 runs from 75 balls, backed up by Salam Richie's 77/41 balls and Ngambarel Naoshekpam's 70/67 helped the Patsoi squad pile up 364 for 2 in the stipulated 30 overs.
Stoneson also did his bit with an unbeaten 19 not out in their innings.
Then Henba Pebani turned out to be the hero for PTRC in their bowling attack that made short work of AKSDO's batting order.
The Khangabok team threw in the towel in 23.3 overs managing just 107 in their abysmal run chase.
Borish Khundrakpam (17) was the only batter who could score in double figures.
Henba snapped 6 wickets as Benson Yumnani, Limnganba Pheiroijam, Beidabiyas Pheiroijam and Robinson Sougaijam took one each in their team's record victory in the tournament so far.
Earlier Chingamba Elangbam and Paikhomba Liishrani got one wicket each for AKSDO.
Robinson Sougaijam who hit 156 runs off 75 balls and took one wicket, deservedly earned the man-of the match accolade.
CDC thum ped OSCAR (Paona Bazar) by 9 wickets at Langthabal Public Ground.
Put in to bat, OSCAR were bundled out for 62 in 16.1 oversas Robin Irengbam (13) and Telem Kumar (12) were the only batters who got into double digits in their innings.
Mutum Jodiba led the CDC bowling attack with a haul of 3 wickets while Rajkumar Robindro and Naoroibam Prithichand claimed 2 scalps each, with Md Ataur Rahaman accounting for one wicket.
After a fine bowling display by the CDC quartet, the Sagolband side took only 6.3 overs to eclipse the opposition's total.
CDC lost just one wicket in their run chase.
Backed up by Mutum Jodiba's 30 off 23 balls, Ihounao jam Rakesh (22 not) guided their team on a comprehensive victory.
Courtesy of his performance (3 wickets & 30 runs), Mutum Jodi ba was adjudged man of the match.
ESU too enjoyed an easy day with a 7-wicket drubbing of PTCC (Patsoi Part III) at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part IV.
Electing to bat.
PTCC could only muster 50 after being bowled out in 21.3 overs.
Bishomcha Khundrakpam emerged as the chief destroyer for ESU with 5 scalps while Soibam Venus and Hanjabam Naoba Sharma picked up two wickets each to lay the foundation for their team's victory.
ESU achieved the target in 7.5 overs with Hanjabam Naoba Sharma scoring an unbeaten 22 and Md Atif Shah contributing 12 .
For PTCC, Dhirendakishor Naorem scalped 2 wickets and Chingakham Nikhil Meetei took one.
Bishomcha Khundrakpam was named man of the match.
