AMCA, AKSDO, RCA cruise into 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament quarterfinals

AMCA, Thoubal; AKSDO, Khangabok and RCA, Lilong all cruise into the quarterfinals of the 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2024-25 by posting commanding pre-quarterfinal victories.
In a pre-quarterfinal match staged at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, AMCA stunned rivals PTRC, Patsoi Part IV by 191 runs to seal their place in the quarterfinals.
AMCA, after opting to bat first, racked up a huge total of 306 runs for 6 wickets in 30 overs thanks to half century knocks from Maibam Anish 90 off 42 balls and Moichingmayum Md Yakin 52 not out off 35 balls.
AMCA then bowled out PTRC for 115 runs in 17.3 overs courtesy of Sahid Khulakpam (3/21 in 5 overs), Moichingmayum Md Yakin (3/7 in 2.3 overs) and Md Wajid Khan (2/17 in 3 overs) to seal the huge win.

Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan 43 off 43 balls, Hanif 25 off 21 balls and Mm Altaf 24 off 11 balls also made significant scores for AMCA today in an innings that saw PTRC's Goutam Chingangbam (2/32) picking two wickets and four others claiming a wicket apiece.
In reply, the opening pair of Bedabiyas 24 off 23 balls and Priyojit Thongam 27 off 21 balls made double digit scores for PTRC before Sahid, Wajid and Yakin wreaked havoc to curtail them at 115 .
Md Yakin who starred with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at PTRC ground, AKSDO piled up a humongous total of 356 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 30 overs before bowling out THAU, Thangmeiband for 52 runs within 12.3 overs.
Kh Korounganba 96 off 44 balls (7 fours and 8 sixes); Borish Khundrakpam 88 off 48 balls (13 fours and 3 sixes) and Chingamba Elangbam 65 off 38 balls (11 fours and 2 sixes) gave AKSDO, who were asked to bat first, a solid start and eventually set up the big total.
The huge total came despite Khundrakpam Bidyananda enjoying a five-for (5/53) and four others claiming a wicket apiece for THAU.
In reply, Konthoujam Tomthinganba added 34 off 32 balls and emerged only double digit run getters as Chingamba Elangbam (4/7 in 3.2 overs) and Punshiba Akoijam (2/0 in 1 overs) shared 6 wickets for AKSDO and three other picked a wicket apiece.
As many as 6 THAU batters went out on duck in this innings.
Meanwhile at Khudeiband Lampak, RCA crushed MPA, Thounaojam by 122 runs thanks to Syed Sami Ul and Farhan Ahmed.
Syed Sami Ul knocked 83 off 86 balls (14 fours) and Heibokmayum Albaz Hussain quickfired 70 off 57 balls (11 fours and 1 six) to steer toss winners RCA to 209 for 7 in 30 overs before Farhan Ahmed (4/21 in 4 overs) and Md Irfan (3/14 in 6 overs) set up MPA collapse at 87 within 22 overs.
For MPA, Th Chinglensana (3/29 in 6 overs) and Chongtham Priyokumar (2/42 in 6 overs) led the bowling charge before Th Chinglensana 27, Chongtham Sitaranjan 15 and Chongtham Priyokumar 16 emerged only double digit run getters for the team.
Syed Sami Ul of RCA was adjudged player of the match.
