Manipur go down 43-57 to Uttarakhand in Sub Junior Boys National Basketball C'ship

Manipur suffered a 43-57 loss to Uttarakhand in the second Group F match of the SubJunior Boys National Basketball Championship being hosted by Telangana in Hyderabad.
Manipur, who had beaten Odisha 39-33 in the opening match yesterday, had a slow start and trailed by 5-13 in the opening period but bounced back in the second period to take a slender 23-21 lead.
They however failed to sustain their momentum and could add only 4 points as Uttarakhand resurged to take a 36-27 lead in the third period before finishing the game 57-43.Th Sotindrachan emerged topscorer for Manipur with 13 points to his name with 8 points coming up in the fourth period while K Anderson added 12 points and Th Billgates added 10 points.
K Anderson was crucial in staging a fightback for Manipur in the second period as he added 10 points alone.
Billgates also added 8 points of his total 2 points in the fourth period for Manipur to make up 16 points against 21 points added by Uttarakhand in the fourth period through stellar performances from T Sewang, Nawal Kumar, Aarav and S Giri.
P Shriyans, Tomthinganba, Barun and Th Gison also added two points apiece for Manipur.
For Uttarakhand, Aarav topscored with 19 points across three periods as T Sewang added 15 points that too in the last two quarters.
Nawal Kumar and Vijm Singh also contributed 8 points apiece for Uttarakhand while S Giri added 4 points and Saksham added 3 points.
Manipur will play Assam in the next match tomorrow from 3.45 pm .
