7th MVCA T20 Cricket : CHAMP post 5 run win to end YWC's unbeaten run

CHAMP, Khagempalli registered a 5-run victory to break the unbeaten run of YWC, Langthabal at the 7th MVCA T20 Cricket tournament being organised by Manipur Veteran Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground.
Today's result however did not affect YWC's position as both sides managed to cut into semifinals along with NAPSA and LCCC.
CHAMP won the toss in this closely contested match against YWC and stacked up a modest target of 135 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Tejbanta top scored with 27 runs off 21 balls in this innings after Jodiba went out for 27 runs.
Robinson also gathered 26 runs before he departed in the 24th delivery.
YWC's Rojesh claim 2 wickets in the first innings while Shashi and Priyokumar came up with one wicket each before their team managed 129 runs for 9 in their quota of 20 overs for a narrow defeat.
Kumarjit of YWC took off the chase on a bright note hitting 34 runs before he went out and Gojendro tried hard to anchor the innings adding 25 runs but exceptional bowling performance by Jodiba poured cold water to their effort to hold the chase at 129 runs.
Premchand also managed 18 runs in this innings which saw Jodiba claim 3 wickets in 4 overs while Ibobi and Ratan picked up 2 wicket each.
Homeshor of CHAMP also dismissed one of the wicket.
Jodiba of CHAMP who scored 27 runs and collected 3 wickets in the second innings was named man of the match.
Earlier, Model Club romped to a 5 wicket win against DSU which posted 120 runs for 6 in 20 overs after electing to bat first.
Heramani hit the highest 35 runs while Anand (24) and Brojen (22) also made their names on the scoresheet.
Model Club's Chaoba picked up three wickets in this innings while Pyarlal dismissed two before Tiken (47 not out) and Demin (42) shone in the chase to ensure the huge win with 5 balls and 5 wickets left in the hand.
Jiten of DSU was also able to fetch three wickets while his team mate Somorjit picked up a single.
Tiken who played a pivotal role in Model Club's chase was named man of the match.
CHAMP will meet NAPSA, Kha Imphal in the first semifinal match of the tournament on March 19 while LCCC will face YWC, Langthabal in the second semi-final match latter in the evening session.
