REYS (Nagamapal) thrashed Cyclone (Thangmeiband) by 8 wickets to storm into the final of the 3rd Phalada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangshangbam today.
Jayenta of REYS did the star turn for his team grabbing three wickets and compiling a fine 51 runs off 75 balls to take the match away from the rival team.
Luck was also on the side of REYS as it won the toss and the captain read the pitch well and opted to take the field and put in Cyclone to bat first.
The batsmen of Cyclone started tentatively, not really opening up and settled for singles and twos with some quick running between the wicket.

The bowlers of REYS also kept a tight line and length and did not send down any loose balls, making the batsmen of Cyclone struggle to find the gap.
For Cyclone, Akshay-kumar did the star turn compiling a patient 53 runs off 72 balls.
The other notable contributors included Jempu who made a painstaking 33 runs off 66 balls and Narsingh who chipped in 13 runs off 26 balls.
With wickets falling at regular interval at the other end, Akshaykumar could not really open up and go in for the kill.
The tight length and breadth maintained by the bowlers of REYS also did not give much room to open up his bat.
Sanjay of REYS led the way in the bowling department scalping four wickets.
He was ably assisted by Jayenta who chipped in with three wickets and Robertson who managed to take one wicket.
The innings of Cyclone folded up in the allotted 40 overs for 136 runs losing eight wickets on the way.
REYS went in to bat with a purpose and the wayward bowling of the bowlers of Cyclone helped their cause a great deal.
With the bowlers of Cyclone not really up to the mark, the batsmen of REYS could find the gap between the fielders scoring almost at will.
After his fine spell of three wickets with the ball, Jayenta again did the star turn with the bat, leading from the front in totalling 51 runs off 75 balls.
Jayenta pulled and cut and managed to find the gap to send the ball beyond the boundary line on a number of occasions.
The loose bowling from Cyclone only helped the batsmen of REYS to open up their bats and plunder runs at will.
Jayenta was ably assisted by Guniram who made a quick 38 runs off only 41 balls to literally take the match away from Cyclone.
Mintuchandra also chipped in with a valuable 31 runs off 39 balls, leaving the bowling attack of Cyclone in disarray.
Going at a handsome run rate, REYS managed to over take the total of Cyclone in just 32.2 overs, leaving the bowlers of Cyclone in disarray.
Only Jempu of Cyclone made his presence felt grabbing two wickets.
