State Level Rural Sports Competitions conclude : IE emerge overall team champion; IW win runner-up title

The State Level Rural Sports Competitions under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) Scheme concluded today with IE emerging the team champion at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.
The closing ceremony, of the three-day long competitors was graced by the Secretary to the Chief Minister N Ashok Kumar (IAS) and Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) Director W Bhaktaraj Singh (MCS) as chief guest and president respectively.
Team champion Imphal East (IE) secured 59 points while second placed Imphal West (IW) and third placed Bishnupur were at 36 and 33 points respectively.
In the athletics event, IE clinched the first position in the boy's event while Thoubal and IW bagged the second and third placed position.
In the girl's group, Thoubal lifted the title with IE and IW claiming the second and third placed title respectively.
In the boy's archery category, Thoubal, Tamenglong and IW won the first, second and third position respectively while in the girl's group, Thoubal, Tamenglong and IE clinched the first, second and third placed title respectively.
In basketball, IW won the first position while Churachandpur and IE claimed the second and third position respectively in the boy's category.
In the girl's group, IE, Tamenglong and Bishnupur won the first, second and third position respectively.
The boy's boxing title went to IE while IW and Thoubal settled for the second and third placed title respectively.
In the girl's group, Churachandpur won the first position while IE and Thoubal respectively secured the second and third placed title respectively.
The boy's football title went to Churachandpur while IE and Tamenglong bagged the second and third placed title respectively.
IE, IW and Senapati lifted the first, second and third placed title in the girl's group.
In the boy's weightlifting category, Bishnupur , IE and Senapati claimed the first, second and third placed title respectively while in the girl's group, Bishnupur and IE again went for first and second placed title while the third spot went to IW.
In the judo event, IW, IE and Bishnupur claimed the boy's and girl's first, second and third position respectively.
Bishnupur, Thoubal and IE respectively clinched the first, second and third position of boy's and girl's handball event.
In boy's taekwondo, IE came first while IW and Bishnupur settled for the second and third place respectively.
In the girl's group, the first position title went to IE while Thoubal and IW won the second and third position respectively.
Bishnupur, Chandel and Senapati respectively bagged the first, second and third placed title of boy's handball while in the girl's event, Chandel, Churachandpur and Ukhrul won the first, second and third position respectively.
