2nd Tengnoupal Block Level Sports Meet 2019 gets underway

Thoubal, January 15 2019: The 2nd Tengnoupal Block Level Sports Meet 2019 being organised by Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Tengnoupal Block kicked-off today with D Korungthang, MLA 42-Tengnoupal AC gracing the opening ceremony as chief guest.

D Korungthang in his speech appreciated the organising committee for organising such sporting event and expressed hope that the event will bring peace, harmony and development in Tengnoupal Block.

He encouraged players to aspire high and become professional player than just an occasional player.

He mentioned names of great Indian footballers and their inspiring struggles and appealed the youths of the society to abstain from intoxicants in order to achieved something great in their lives.

Functional president Pu S Tongpao Mate, member 6-Sita DCC; chief host Pu H John Thangkholen Mate, president KCA Tengnoupal district and guests of honour of the function, Pu Kh Morung Maring, Member 2-Machi DCC, ADC Chandel, Pu M Morungson Maring, Member 1-Khoibu DCC, Pu Meshil Ranjit, Member ADC Chandel, Milan Khaling, special contractor, and officers from 12 AR also spoke on the occassion.

The opening ceremony was attended by surrounding village chiefs, KSO General Headquarters, Tengnoupal Branch and Imphal Branch, block CSOs, SP Tengnoupal Dr S Ibomcha Singh, Chief of Saivom village and also Adviser to KSO Tengnoupal Block Pi Christina Ating Haokip as special guests.

The 10-day sporting event which will be culminated on January 25 will witness 17 football teams and 10 volleyball teams participating from different youth clubs of the area.
