Churachandpur, November 14 2019:
The Ganggam Soccer Club have finally, after three previous final attempts, won the Seikam Memorial Open Football trophy today at Kholmun playground, Churachandpur despite facing a stiff competition from Zenhang Lamka YC as the two heavyweights went head-to-head at the final of the tournament's 12th edition.
Ganggam SC was surprised by opponent's initial move early as the Zenhang Lamka side found the net just two minutes into the game through a flair move from Pumtanlian.

The score-line slide further ahead as the ZLYC scoring hero Bunthanglun took it to 2-0 in the 12th minute.
With the now or never attitude, Ganggam SC managed to pick-up their form and incredibly overturned the scoreline to 3-2 in its favour within 17 minutes.
Pauzalel Neihsial opened the account for Ganggam SC in the 20th minute while M Khupneihgir Koren levelled the scoreline three minutes later and Satgouthang netted the 3rd goal just 8 minutes before half-time.
As anticipated, the latter half of the final match was nothing but a showpiece of football as anticipated.
Ganggam SC fought hard to retain the halftime score-line in their bid to win the trophy that have eluded them in 2016 and 2018.For the Zenhang Lamka YC, it is their first final appearance on a major open football tournament since their agonising 1-0 final defeat at the hands of Bungmual YC in the Zogal Memorial Shield 2015.As such, the said tournament becomes a perfect platform for them to avenge their past disappointments.
Despite the best efforts from both sides and the high decibel clash on the pitch, none of the two Churachandpur football heavyweights managed to alter the half-time score-line which has resulted in a fascinating and deserving win for Ganggam SC.
Today's final match cum closing ceremony was graced by T Nungshi Singh, up-Adhyaksha, Thoubal District; Haobijam Badan Kumar Singh, special contractor and Marilyn Ningmuanching Khuptong, state level miss kut 2019 as chief guest, functional president and special invitee respectively along with the donor Hemlal Haokip.
