KBB Gym continues to present eminent body builders

Imphal, March 14 2018: Manipur have been producing eminent and successful body builders in the National and international platforms over the years and one of the major contributor to this discipline is Kanglei Body Building (KBB) Gym of Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak.

The gym instituted on February 6, 1999 with a very positive perception by Sapam Joy, a former body builder now coach of the gym has been producing many successful athletes who brought laurels to the State and the Nation and one of the most successful athletes ever produced by the gym is Laitonjam Rishikanta.

Born to Laitonjam Mahesh and Laitonjam Indira Devi of Patsoi Part-4, Rishikanta has been an inspiration to many body builders of the State for his endless medal feats and podium finishes in many National and international body building and physique competitions.

L Rishikanta who started his eventful body building career at KBB in April 2013 is now one of the most decorated body builders with many medals and titles in his name since 2015 .

He won his first gold medal in the 6th Eastern India Body Building Championship held from January 3 to 4, 2015 in the 75 kg category.

He also recently won the gold medal in the 85 kg category and overall title in the Eastern India Body Building Championship 2018 held from March 10 to 11 at Bhuvaneswar.

He also brought home a gold medal (85 kg category) from the Federation Cup 2018 held at Patna this year in January.

He won his first international gold medal in the 75 kg category at the Asian Body Building and Physique Championship held at Seoul in 2017.In the 9th World Body Building and Physique Championship 2017, Rishikanta gave his best shot to add another international gold.

L Rishikanta when asked about his successful journey in this short period of time, pointed towards the relentless and dedicated efforts from his coach and founder of the gym, Sapam Joy.

He also credited supports from all sections of the society for his success and achievements.

Coach Sapam Joy who has dedicated all his efforts and time to grooming budding bodybuilders since 1999 now feels gratified that his dreams have started coming true and he is willing to dedicate more time and energy to make Manipuri youths physically and mentally fit.

KBB Gym is also happy to have successful players like Nando Luwang, W Kiran, Takhellambam Khomei etc.
