MNCA Plate Tournament : YAC post third win on trot, SHADOW seal second victory

YAC, Yaiskul cruised to their third Group B win on the trot as SHADOW sealed second Group A victory in the ongoing 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25.At Lairenjam Public Ground, SHADOW bowled out toss winners KCDO, Kongpal for 119 runs in 27.1 overs before cruising to the winning 121 for 7 wickets in 30 overs.
Md Aziz Khan starred with both the bat and ball as he scored a 56-ball 68 in the chase after having picked three wickets for 24 runs in his spell of 7 overs that contained one maiden.
He was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Netajit Konsam 38, Hemjit 28 and Devendro 11 were the only double digit run getters for KCDO in the first innings that saw Aziz Khan and Jotinkumar (3/18 in 6 overs) claimed three wickets apiece as Loyumba (2/21) picked two wickets.
In reply, SHADOW were reduced to 16/5 in 7.2 overs as Ksh Dayananda (2/13) an d Netajit Konsam (2/24) rattled the top order batters before Arubam Goshan and Md Aziz Khan forged a 100-run partnership to take SHADOW to a sniffing distance of a win.
Aziz Khan was trapped lbw by Md Abdul Kayum at 116 in the 29th over but Arubam Goshan managed to add 5 more runs to seal the victory alongside Md Aslam.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, YAC thrashed SDC, Laipham Khunou by 7 wickets for the third straight victory thanks to bowlers and Bhupendra Mangang.
The first innings witnessed Abocha Laishram (3/28), Singhajit Sharma (2/12), Oinam Kiran (2/14) and Indrakumar Wayenbam (2/15) combine well to dismiss SDC, who won the toss and elected to b at first, for 106 runs in 31.4 overs.
For SDC, only N Raji 28 and Aditya Thingnam 17 were the double digit run getters as three batters departed on ducks while other batters ended up with single digit scores.
YAC then eased to the target in 12.4 overs as Bhupendra Mangang struck an unbeaten 55 off 33 balls and Nehru Thokchom added 21.Abocha Laishram, who led the YAC bowling attack, was eventually adjudged player of the match.
