YDA rout FFC 3-0 in Tbl 2nd Divn League, UMFC down CITYC 2-0 in 3rd Divn League

Imphal, September 13 2019: YDA, Tentha registered their second win in the Group A competition of the ongoing 2nd Division Football League Tournament with a 3-0 rout of FFC, Melaground today at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School playground, Thoubal.

YDA which kicked off their group A campaign with a slender 1-0 win against AFC-B, Athokpam rode on Nongdamba's brace and a goal in between by Satyabahon to clinch a 3-0 win against FFC, Melaground today.

Nongdam opened up the scoring in the 11th minute after FFC managed to hold their fort in the earlier proceeding and Satyabahon doubled YDA's advantage with a perfectly crafted goal in the 22nd minute of the match.

The first half ended 2-0 in favour of the Tentha side was FFC failed to put up together a show and it was in the 40th minute that Nongdamba grabbed his second goal and put YDA in the drivers seat.

YDA defence did well to fend all late charges from FFC and eventually went home with all three points.

AFC, Athokpam will meet UOC, Uyal in the next Group A league match tomorrow while NGL, Lourembam at 1.30 pm will take on EEO, Lumding in a Group B league match tomorrow at 3.30 pm.

Meanwhile in the second match of the Third Division League tournament organised by the District Football Association Thoubal, UMFC, Moijing were able to start their campaign with a 2-0 thumping of CITYC, Heirok.

Akter converted a penalty in the 57th minute to give UMFC the breakthrough after a barren first half before he scored the finisher during the stoppage time (60+1') .
