Imphal, January 13 2015: Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, GOC 3 Corps, arrived today on two day visit to HQs IGAR (South) .

Lt Gen Bipin Rawat felicitated the Assam Rifles archery team for their outstanding performance.

Assam Rifles archery team being trained at 9 Sector under the aegis of IGAR (South) won the 3rd All India Police Archery Championship 2014 held at Guwahati from Jan 5 to 9, 2015 .

The AR team defeated 19th Central & State Police archery team and bagged 9 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals.

The team also clinched gold medals in Indian round, compound and recurve division events.

Rfn M Sunder Singh won two gold and Rfn Bijendranath Singh clinched a gold medal in the Indian round.

Rfn Sh Netrajit Singh and Rfn G Robert Sharma bagged a gold medal each in the compound division and Rfn Th Sanatomba Singh claimed a gold medal in the recurve division.
