Imphal, December 12 2016: TRAU, Kwakeithel lost to NISA, Thangmeiband 4-3 via penalty shoot-out in the pre-quarter final match of the ongoing 60th CC Meet today Mapal Kangjeibung.

The normal time of the match between the two giant title contenders ended in a 1-1 draw.

Penalty shoot-out was ordered and NISA emerged the winners.

NISA enjoyed mid-field superiority and better ball possession and kept the pressure on their rivals.

However, they conceded an early goal to TRAU in the 17th minute.

L Sanatomba latched on a superb cross off Nigerian striker Amos Nathaniel Adisa from the right flank.

The two sides went to the break with TRAU's 1-0 lead intact.

NISA carried the momentum in the second half.

David KC Ngaihte and Kh Naoton of NISA found some scoring chances.

However, TRAU defender S Piba Meitei and custodian Md Tajuddin warded off several dangers sending NISA's fans into jittery.

The Thangmeiband outfits' frenetic efforts yielded when David KC Ngaihte booted home a ball that was unleashed in TRAU goal area by Md Sahabas in the 68th minute.

After the score was equalised, none of the two sides could produce any goal at the end of the 90-minute regulation time.

No extra time was awarded and penalty shoot-out was ordered.

Only two of TRAU players � K Phalguni and Sh Meiraba were successful in the penalty shoot-out.

While NISA's custodian L Bishorjit brilliantly saved the shots of Idowu Michael Oluwasegun and N Sushil, the shot of L Sanatomba just went wide off the mark.

On the other hand, L Gouro's kick was saved by TRAU's custodian and S Ranjan's attempt went wide.

However, O Premeshore, Sahabas and Kh Naoton could score for NISA.
