IBSA, SSU cruise to second victories in 9th MNCA Plate Tournament

IBSA, Yumnam Leikai and SSU, Singjamei Kakwa cruised to their second victories in three matches respectively in the ongoing 9th MNCA Plate Tournament.
At Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, IBSA defended a total of 208/5 by dismissing RRCC, Churachandpur for 139 runs in 28.4 overs for the second Group A victory in three matches.
Electing to bat first IBSA posted the commanding total in 30 overs despite early setbacks thanks to Nelson Keithellakpam, who scored an unbeaten 76 off 84 balls and Sameer 48.Sanasam Ruby claimed two wickets (2/58) while Md Irfan and L Pravin claimed a wicket apiece for RRCC.
Yengkhom Bhomendro 3/43, Pravesh 2/15 and Azmad Khan 2/13 then rattled the RRCC line up to set up their collapse at 139.Louriyam Elan 41, Md Irfan 32, Bineto 20 and Medhajit 14 managed double digit scores for RRCC in the chase.
Bhomendro who added 24 runs and picked three wickets was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma starred with the ball to guide SSU to a 4 run victory against OSCAR, Paona Bazar.
It was their second Group B victory after having lost the previous game.
SSU gathered a modest total of 160 runs for 8 wickets in 35 overs after opting to bat first thanks to Robertson Th 30, Suograkpam Douglas 28 and L Somorjit 18 before Sh Deepankar (3/32) and Bollanath (3/22) combined well to restrict OSCAR for 156 runs for 9 wickets.
In reply, Jawan scored an unbeaten 35 and Sorokhaibam Samson added 25 for OSCAR but their efforts fell short.
Jawan had earlier returned with the best figures of 3/28 as Sorokhaibam Samson (2/ 18) and Zenith Nongmaithem (2/25) chipped in with two wicket apiece.
Deepankar who took pivotal role in setting up the OSCAR collapse, was adjudged player of the match.
