YWC beat OSCAR by 19 runs in Veteran Cricket Tourney

YWC, Langthabal, having beaten DSU earlier, earned their second win at the 17th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament by beating OSCAR, Paona Bazar by 19 runs today at Langthabal Public Ground.
YWC which could managed only 125 runs for 10 in 29.1 overs after opting to bat first, held their nerves to hold OSCAR for 106 runs for 7 in 30 overs.
YWC started poorly with bat and Kumarjit was the highest run getter for the team with 34 runs in his name in 38 balls as Anggu of OSCAR produced a fine bowling performance and picked up 4 wickets in his 6 overs.
YWC's Gojendro and Umakanta also got their names on the scoresheet for their 16 and 11 runs contributions in making 125 runs.
The innings also saw Lalboy and Devdutta pick up a wicket each before their batting line up missed their chances and ended up collecting only 106 runs.
Hokendro made the highest 25 runs off 30 balls for OSCAR in the chase while Ninghor and Joy Shankar managed 17 and 16 runs each.
Although YWC bowlers could not take wickets down in quick succession, they were best in maintaining their economy and it helped them seal a 19-run victory.
Gojendra finished best with 2 wickets in his name in 6 overs while Kumarjit, Samananda and Rojeshkumar claimed a wicket each in this innings.
YWC's Kumarjit who made most of runs and took a wicket, was adjudged man of the match.
CHAMP, Khagempalli will take on CYCLONE, Thangmeiband in the next match tomorrow.
