6th MNCA Plate Tournament : Thangjam Cherry's 4 wicket haul wreak havoc as UCC thrash Oscar by 6 wickets

UCC Uripok thrashed Oscar Paona Bazar by 6 wickets at the ongoing 6th MNCA Plate Tournament 2021-22 played at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium today.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Oscar managed to put up a score of 194 in 40 overs with 3 wickets remaining.
Oscar suffered an early set-back as Khruso was bowled by UCC's Shyam Kumar after scoring just 1 runs off 2 balls.
Sorokhaibam Samsong too returned to the pit after scoring just 3 runs off 12 balls as he was caught by Haobam Ajitkumar on Shyam Kumar's ball.
Other batsmen Santosh added (6 runs off 67 balls), Permeshowr (20 off 22 balls), Bijendro (39 off 34 balls), Robin (1 off 1 ball, not out) and London (1 off 1 ball, not out) while Sushilkumar suffered a golden duck.
Opening batsman Tamaijit performed the best for Oscar as he added 75 runs in 102 balls before he was lbwed by Thangjam Cherry.
UCC's Thangjam Cherry wreaked havoc as he took 4 wickets in 8 overs and gave away just 45 runs.
Shyam Kumar took 2 wickets in 8 overs and gave away 37 runs while Tomson Waikhom took 1 wicket in 3 overs and gave 28 runs.
Chasing a target of 195, UCC's batting line-up managed to put up an impressive display as opening batsmen Moirangthem Satish and Haobam Ajitkumar managed to score 64 and 52 respectively before Satish's wicket was picked up by Telem Sushilkumar in Nongmaithem Bijendro's ball in the 19th over.
Haobam Ajit soon followed suit as ne was caught by T Santosh in Nongmaithem Bijendro's ball.
Roshan Das(28 off 20 balls), Thangjam Anson (21 off 17 balls, not out), Durgesh Sharma (7 off 7 balls) and FK Shah (5 off 9 balls, not out) aided in providing UCC an easy win with 6 wickets and 10 overs remaining.
UCC's Moirangthem Satish Kumar was adjudged the 'Man of the Match' for his 64 runs off 52 balls.
