Maram AR organises friendly volleyball match, distributes sports items

Senapati, August 11 2021: Continuing its untiring and relentless pursuit to serve the people of senapati district, Maram Battalion under the aegis of Jwalamukhi Sector/IGAR (E) organised a friendly volleyball match in Tunggam Khullen and distributed sports items.

4 teams from the remote villages of Paomata Centre, Tunggam Khullen and Makhufii villages participated in the event.

Volleyballs, footballs and other sports items were also distributed to the local youth of Tungam Khullen, Makhufii and Paomata Centre.

The local village teams were overwhelmed by the gesture shown by Assam rifles and thanked the Assam Rifles for the kind gesture.

It may be mentioned that during the hard times of COVID-19 and continuous lockdown in the area, many village authorities and youth approached Assam Rifles to provide essential sports kits and items.

In the villages where sports is encouraged and talented players have emerged, Assam Rifles ensures that talent should be motivated to go further and play for the State and country.

The Company Commander also assured the locals that Assam Rifles would be helping them in all possible ways in future and that Maram Battalion would be working to maintain peace and harmony in the area.
