CHAMP, CYCLONE post contrasting wins in Veteran T-20 Cricket Tourney

Imphal, February 11 2025: CYCLONE, Thangmeiband eased past YCC, Wangkhei by 9 wickets as CHAMP, Khagempalli sealed a narrow 8-run victory against BKCC, Bamon Kampu in today's matches of the ongoing 12th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament 2025 .

In the 6th match of the tournament (Group A), YCC, Wangkhei amassed a competitive total of 168 runs for three wickets thanks to unbeaten half century knocks from Winkan (56 off 44 balls) and Sanjit Laishram (57 off 37 balls) .

Their efforts however went in vain as Usham Robinson scored a quickfire 102 off 62 balls and Tarun scored an unbeaten 52 off 41 balls to fire CYCLONE to winning 172 for 1 wicket in 17.5 overs.

L Khoga, Narjit and Dhanendrajit collected one wicket apiece for CYCLONE as G Sanjit claimed the lone wicket for YCC.

Usham Robinson who hit a ton for CYCLONE was named man of the match. In the Group C encounter staged later in the day, CHAMP posted a hardfought 111/9 before restricting BKCC, Bamon Kampu to 103/8 to seal an 8-run victory.

Prabinkumar (4/28) and T Lenin (3/25) shone for BKCC sharing 7 wickets between them earlier before their chase fell short despite Leishangthem Johnson's 33 and Riyajuddin's 26 .

For CHAMP, Ajit had scored highest unbeaten 24 before T Sudhir (3/19) and Bablu Sharma (2/18) impressed with the bowling.

T Sudhir was declared man of the match.
