Imphal, July 10 2014: An emergency executive committee meeting of Manipur Basketball Association was held today at 8 am at Nahabam to condole the sudden and sad demise of Thangjam Saratchandra Singh, who was the founder president and life member of the association.

Saratchandra breathed his last yesterday.

During his lifetime, the Association could organize 7th East Zone, 9th East Zone, 3rd National Youth Basketball Championship and Sub-Junior Championship in the year 1981, 1983 and 1990 respectively under the guidance of Saratchandra.

The meeting observed 2 minutes silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul of Saratchandra and prayed to the almighty God for the departed soul to rest in peace in its heavenly abode.

Members of the association also shared the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family.
