Nohjang Kipgen Memorial Sadar Hills 1st Division Football League underway

Kangpokpi, August 09 2022: Nohjang Kipgen Memorial Sadar Hills 1st Division Football League, 2022 kicked off today at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi District Headquarters.

8 teams clubbed into two pool are competing in the tournament organized by District Sports Association, Sadar Hills (DSA-SH) and sponsored by Kamginmang Kipgen and family of K Gamnomphai village.

The opening ceremony was attended by DSA Sadar Hills president Chongpu Kipgen (IAS Retired), Fr Janggin Chongloi, officials from DSA Sadar Hills and various CSOs leaders.

A condolence service to pay tribute to the former DSA Sadar Hills General Secretary (L) Hegin Singsit was also held before the match.

After a keynote address and encouragement speech from the DSA Sadar Hills President, Fr.Janggin Chongloi invoked prayer seeking God's blessing in the tournament.

The inaugural match of the league played between Kuki Football Academy (KFA) and S&T Tahchapa Football Club (STTFC) saw KFA win 1-0 thanks to Haolenngam's 52nd minute goal.

The second match between Twilang Area Sporting Association (TASA) and Leilon Athletic & Sporting Association (LASA) also ended with similar fashion as TASA beat LASA 1-0.Tomorrow, Taphou Football Club will play Motbung Youth Club in the first match while Haipi Youth Athletic will play Keithelmanbi Youth Association in the second match.
