State Level Volleyball Tournaments : 19 teams in fray for senior men's title

Imphal, October 08 2024: As many as 19 teams are in contention for the senior men's title as the State Level Volleyball Tournaments are set to begin on October 10 .

The 48th edition of the senior men's tournament will see 19 clubs clustered in four groups play for 8 knock-out stage berths before advancing to the title clash.

YMDO, Heirangoithong; SYCY, Senjam Chirang; NDVA, Noney and SDC, Shamurou are in Group A as MPSC; IGO, Oinam, UKVC, Kamjong and AAVA, Andro are drawn in Group B .

KDVA, Kamjong; TRYVC, Ukhrul; SEDO, Nongmaikhong; EAGLE, Ukhrul; and AMIMYDO are meanwhile drawn in Group C while NSU, Imphal; KYLSC, Kachikhul; NVYA, Naorem; MRC, Mairenkhong and YPC, Ishok are placed in Group D .

YMDO will play NYDA in the opening match on October 10 from 12.30 pm.

The 23rd edition of Sub-Junior State Level Volleyball Tournament is also set to begin earlier in the day with 12 teams clubbed into 4 groups vying for top honours.

AMIMYDO, Mayang Imphal; NYVA, Naorem and SUWC, Irengbam are clubbed in Group A as SEWA, Nachou; DVA, Thoubal and SCYC, Senjam Chirang are placed in Group B .

TRYVA, Ukhrul; TYC, Tendongyan and YPC, Ishok are meanwhile drawn in Group C as UKVC, Kamjong; YGC, Waikhong and CDVA, Chandel are drawn in Group D .

Top two teams from each group will advance to the knock-out stage.

AMIMYDO will play NYVA in the opening match from 8.30 am.

The 48th edition of the Senior Women's Volleyball Tournament is in the meantime featuring 8 teams clubbed into two groups.

SDVA, NYVA, NSU and SCYC are clubbed in Group A while MPSC, TRYVC, KDVA and NDVA are drawn together in Group B .

Top two teams will qualify for semi-finals.

NSU vs SCYC will open the tournament on October 11 from 11 am .
