5th Sekta Trophy : SBR drub Imoinu FC 5-2; narrow win for Lamlai FC

Imphal, January 08 2019: SBR, Nongdam secured an emphatic 5-2 win over Imoinu FC, Thamnapokpi while Lamlai FC posted a 3-2 win over Heikakmapal FC in today's league matches of the ongoing 5th Sekta Trophy Football Tournament being organised by Football Club Sekta at its playground.

It was a smooth start for SBR as L Suraj found the opener early in the 12th minute before S Naocha found Ihe second goal four minutes latter.

N Uttam extended the lead to 3-0 with a strike in the 20th minute as SBR were relentless in their attempts.

M Sanjit of Imoinu FC staged a fightback reducing the gap by a goal in the 27th minute but Y Naocha of SBR poured cold water on his effort with a powerful shot three minutes latter.

S Naocha found his second goal in the 36th minute and put SBR clear ahead with a 5-1 lead.

M Sanjit scored another in the 39th minute but SBR tightened up their defence and held on to their lead till die final whistle to enjoy a 5-2 win.

In the second match of the day, Lamlai FC fought beck twice to seal a 3-2 win against Heikakmapal FC.

MD Jakir broke the deadlock early in the 7th minute to put Heikakmapal FC ahead with a 1-0 lead but A Bhumeshor found the equaliser in the 20th minute after a series of unsuccessful runs.

Heikakmapal FC regained their lead in the 25th minute through W Inland but failed to last long as Kh Amarjit of the Lamlai side restored parity in the 30th minute before hitting the winner in me 38th minute of the match.
