9th MNCA Plate Tournament: NAPSA, KSDO cruise to second straight victories

Imphal, December 06 2024: NAPSA, Kha Imphal and KSDO, Kyamgei sealed their second successive victories in the ongoing 9th MNCA Plate Tournament.

NAPSA extended their winning run in the league stage (Group A) by defeating RRCC, Churachandpur by 7 wickets at Lairenjam Public Ground today.

RRCC won the toss and opted to bat first, but were dismissed for 56 runs in 16.2 overs as Albert Sorokhaibam (4/21) and Heisnam Boney (4/8) wreaked havoc across their batting line up.

Moirangthem Rameshwor 13 and Md Irfan Khan 12 were the only RRCC batters who made double digit figures before NAPSA cruised to the target in just 8 overs with 7 wickets left to spare by riding on Bipin Ningthoujam's 27 and Heisnam Boney's 15 .

L Pravin Kumar was the pick of the RRCC bowlers as he claimed three of three NAPSA wickets (3/12) .

Heisnam Boney who produced an allround performance was adjudged player of the match.

Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public ground, KSDO registered their second Group B win by defeating OSCAR, Paona Bazar by 5 wickets.

The match saw KSDO bowling out toss winners OSCAR for 83 runs in 20.2 overs courtesy of exceptional bowling performances from Lakimbur (4/24) and Md Shah Jahan (4/29 in 5.2 overs) before cruising to winning 88 for 5 in 14.1 overs.

For OSCAR, Thomas Maisnam 15 not out, L Jackychand 12 and Zenith Nongthombam 12 scored double digit figures as four batters were dismissed for ducks.

Meanwhile, Abdul Rafique 35, Nawaz Sharif 21 and Tarique Aziz 11 led the KSDO chase in the innings that witnessed Sorokhaibam Samson 2/13 and Da Ratan 2/17 sharing four wickets for OSCAR.

Md Shah Jahan, who starred with the bowl and produced a catch, was declared man of the match.
