State archers win five medals at NTPC archery championship

Manipur's archers have so far secured five medals including two gold as the 40th NTPC Senior (men & Women) National Archery Championship being held at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, entered its third day on Sunday.
The two gold medals of the state came courtesy of women's team event (Indian round) and men's individual competition (Indian round).
The quartet of Moirangthem Baby Devi, Wangkhem Malesori Devi, Okram Naobi Chanu and Longjam Tomthinnganbi put up a stellar performance to top the women's team event for the yellow metal as Jharkhand finished second and Maharashtra completed the podium honours.
Sapam Robert Singh, on the other hand, won the men's 50m distance event scoring 330 of 360.Mizoram's Ram Soren secured the second place with 327 points and Maharashtra's Digambar Hanumant Chavan took the bronze with a total of 334 points.
Manipur's medal count included three bronze medals.
In the men's team event, Sapam Robert Singh, Mutum Chingkhei Meitei, Chingakham Nelson Singh and Huidrom Bijendranath Singh combined to claim the bronze medal.
SSCB won the gold as AIPSCB came off second best in the competition.
The other two bronze medals, in individual event, were won by Moirangthem Baby Devi (women's 50m distance & 30m distance) .
