Mangal Football Academy cruise to U-19 Football tourney title

Mangal Football Academy thumped North Achanbigei Development Organisation (NADO) by 2-0 goals to claim the title of the U-19 Football Tournament organised by 69 Bn CRPF, Mantripukhri under the aegis of IGP, Manipur and Nagaland Sector CRPF at Achanbigei Leikai Football Ground under Civic Action Programme.
Goals from Kiran (8') and Sanamacha (45') ensured Mangal Football Academy a 2-0 win over NADO today and the championship title.
Kh Sanamacha was also named player of the final match while Kh Jotin of NADO was adjudged best player of the tournament.
Earlier in the semi-finals, NADO drubbed Koirengei Youth Football Association by 5-1 goals while Mangal FA pulled off a 3-1 win over Heingang United Football Club.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was presided by Sh Rajesh Kumar, IPS, IGP, Manipur and Nagaland Sector CRPF as chief guest in the presence of many distinguished guests including Arjuna Awardee, Oinam Bembem; Brig (Retd) SK Sharma, DIGP, CRPF; HK Kanaujia, DIGP, CRPF; Vinod Kumar, Commandant 109 Bn and other CRPF officers.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Rajesh Kumar said that sporting spirit is important for a sportsperson rather than the result of the game.
He lauded that the State players for their endless spirit which had helped them shot to fame in National and international arenas and further expressed the growing players would surely bring glory to the State and the country.
He also encourage girl players of the examples and cited fine examples of successful women players in various fields of games.
He also maintained that the aim of organising such an event was to help young players expose their hidden talents.
Colourful cultural programmes were also organised before the prize distribution ceremony.
Trophies and sports materials were also distributed to the winners and runners up teams, best players of the tournament, man of the match and tournament organising officials on the occasion, said a press release Commandant, 69 Bn CRPF.
