State chess teams named

Imphal, September 02 2011: Manipur chess team comprising of five players and two officials left for Goa today to represent the State in the 41st Junior Under-19 boys and 26th Girls National Chess Championship to held from September 5 to 14 in the coastal State.

The players include Y Pritamkumar (Khonghampat Mayai Leikai), Kh Bishwamitra (Ningthoukhong), Yaish M (Chingmeirong), Kh Bidyananda (Ningthoukhong) and RK Bidyalakshmi (Akampat), according to a Manipur Chess Association release.

The Association also announced selection of Y shankar (Sekta Makha Leikai), H Jacky (Uchol), N Bangkim (Kongba Khunou), Y Pritamkumar (Khonghampat Mayai Leikai), N Rajeshwar (Khonghampat), H Ibochou (Khurkhul), O Binoy (Tera Loukrakpam Leikai), N Brojen (Nambol Mongjing Leikai), S Delta (Sagolband Salam Leikai), Jiban K (Nambol Makha), M James (Sagolband Salam Leikai), S Lawrence (Malom Tulihal), Y Yaisana (Sekta Makha Leikai), Kh Merajao (Mayang Imphal) and N Kishan (Kha Naorem) to represent Manipur in the 5th North East Rating Chess Championship 2011 to be held at Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh).

The 15 players were selected based on their performances in the selection programme conducted from August 27 at Khonghampat Awang Leikai.
