MPSC to leave Imphal for Hero Indian Women's League today

Manipur Police Sports Club's women's football team which will take part in the Hero Indian Women's League 2018-2019 to be held in Ludhiana from May 5, will be leaving Imphal tomorrow along with team officials.
A blessing ceremony for the team in connection with the league tournament organised under the aegis of All India Football Federation was held today at 1st Manipur Rifles Ground in the presence of secretary of Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) ADGP P Doungel who also wished the team the very best of luck.
Coach of the team, M Surmala who was also present on the occasion expressed firm belief that the club will surely perform well at the league tournament which is featuring a total of 12 teams clubbed into 2 groups.
MPSC are drawn in the Group B along with Sethu FC, Bangalore United Football Club, SAI STC Cuttack, FC Kolhapur City and Vadodara Football Academy.
The two best teams from both Group A and B will advance into knock-out stage of the competition.
MPSC also expressed gratitude to all sports lovers of the State who extended financial and morale support to the team and making the participation possible.
The players who will represent the Club in the said league tournament are O Roshni Devi, G Radharani Devi, Asem Romi Devi, Wayenbam Ranjibala Devi, Thokchom Umapati Devi, Salam Pramodini, Irom Premeshori Devi, Moirangthem Mandakini Devi, Salam Rinaroy, Ngangom Bala Devi, Heikrujam Daya, Thokchom Devjani Devi, Asem Roja, L Sanathoi Devi, Elangbam Panthoi Chanu, Yumnam Luxmi, Rebika Oinam, Kangujam Tampakleima, Phanjoubam Bina, Laishram Ritarani Devi, Khumanthem Sonia Devi, Lalboimoi Hmar, Hamom Bijaya Devi, Kim Ningthoujam and Soibam Ibeyaima.
The team will be led by Arjuna Awardee O Bembem as manager, M Surmala as coach, Lourembam Ronibala Chanu as assistant coach and Laiphrakpam Ranjita Devi as physiotherapist.
