6th 57 Mt Div Polo Tourney ITPC rout KPC-B 9-1; TPC advance

Imphal, February 02 2016: Ibudhou Thangjing Polo Club (ITPC) and Tekcham Polo Club (TPC) advanced in the ongoing sixth edition of the 57 Mountain Division Polo Tournament, organised by the Manipur Horse Riding Polo Association (MHRPA), today at Mapal Kangjeibung.

In today's first match, ITPC thrashed Khurai Polo Club (KPC)-B by a margin of 9 goals to one.

The match began with both sides scoring a goal each in the first chukker.

M Devnath scored the lone goal of KPC-B while M Manihar opened the goal account of ITPC.

In the second chukker, a brace from M Manihar and a strike from Kh Tombi gave three goals to ITPC.

S Girimohon scored a double in the third chukker to make the scoreline 6-1 in favour of ITPC.

In-form ITPC witnessed three more goals in the final chukker through M Doren, O Manihar and Kh Tombi.

In the second match today, S Ranjit's treble helped Tekcham Polo Club (TPC) clinch a 4-2 victory over Nambul Mapal Polo Club (NMPC).

The match began with TPC taking a 1-0 lead after S Ranjit found the target.

In the second chukker, TPC doubled the lead after S Ranjit again scored a goal.

On the other hand, NMPC fought back hard till L Tarun and O Paikhomba levelled the scoreline 2-2 .

However, in the final chukker goals from S Sadananda and S Ranjit helped TPC seal the match 4-2 .
