Imphal, February 02 2014: The 59th Veteran State Badminton came to a close today, with the winners and runners (singles and doubles) in six different categories being crowned the champions titles.

In the 35+ singles final, Y Ojit Singh of TDBA got the better of AK Ravi of MPSC by a score line of 21-18, 21-16 while in the doubles of the same category, P Bilash teamed up with K Jadu (IW) to down AK Ravi and L Krishnakumar (MPSC), 22-20, 07-21 and 21-16 .

In the singles of the 40+ category, RK Robinsana (IW) downed M Pratap (IW) by 21-10, 21-07 while in the doubles N Ranveer and H Kalyan beat Kh Narendrajit and Y Kiran 22-20, 12-21 and 21-18 .

Results for the others (45+) are W Amusan who beat Benu Salam, W Amusana and AK Brogen who downed M Somen and Shambhulal Prasad 21-18, 21-19, (50+) M Mubi (MPSC) beat Y Samarendra (CS) 23-21, 12-21 and 21-18, L Raghumani and N Biren beat Th Roben and L Sharat (ESU) 21-12, 16-21, 21-12 .

In 55+ category, N Loken beat S Jatra 21-12, 21-23, 21-7, CH Bimola and A Sunitkumar beat L Kumar and Premananda Roy 21-09, 21-08, (60+) RS Abel (SDBA) beat Tunzalian (CDBA) 18-21, 21-17, 21-16, while in the double of the same category, RK Bijoy and Kh Olendro got the better of L Basantakanta and H Achouba 21-09, 21-18 .

Earlier in the inter-district championship, Imphal West downed Imphal East.
