1st President Cup U-14 Hockey YCCIC, PHAM make cut for final match

Imphal, October 01 2017: YCCIC (U-14 girls) and PHAM (U-14 boys) secured wins in today’s semi-final matches to cruise into the finals of the 1st President Cup U-14 Hockey at Astro Turf Hockey ground, Khuman Lampak in the girls’ section today .

In the second semi-final for girls, YCCIC, Kontha Ahallup thrashed BDHA by a huge margin of 8-0 .

Rina Koijam of YCCIC starred the match with 4 goals in her name while Babyrani followed her with two goals .

Babyrani scored the opener in the very first minute while Rina Koijam added another goal to make 2-0 in the 5th minute.

Babyrani scored her second goal in the 10th minute.

I Kundli also tried her stick and chipped in the fourth goal of the match in the 23rd minute.

Two minutes later, K Elina took her turn to score a single in the 25th minute and extended the lead by 5-0.Now it was turn for star of the day, Rina who stroke three more goals in the 29th, 30th and 33rd minute to wrap the game 8-0.They will now face PHAM, Yaiskul in the final .

In another semi-final match for boys, PHAM, Yaiskul blanked YCCIC by 2-0 to face HU, Lairikyengbam Leikai in the final .

N Dutta and Ph Kennedy scored the two winning goals in the 12th and 41st minute of the match .

The final matches of the tournament which began on September 17 under the aegis of Manipur Hockey with nine teams in the boys’ section and 6 in the girls’ section, are scheduled on October 3 .

Third place matches will be staged tomorrow:
1.UYC, Kanglatongbi vs BDHA, Bishnupur (1.40pm- Girls) 2.KHSC, Khongman vs YCCIC, Kontha Ahallup (3.00pm- Boys) .
