Imphal, November 30 2020: Thongju Kendra Progressive Trust (TKPT) today felicitated Ningombam Gyanendro on his recent appointment as president of Hockey India, the first from the North East to hold such a post.

Ningombam Gyanendro, president Hockey India, S Preshyojit, vice-president Manipur Hockey Association and Soibam Sanjeev, vice-president of TKPT attended as presidium members of the felicitation programme held today at East Garden, Kongba Laishram Leikai.

Ningombam Gyanendro speaking on the occasion said, such a programme jointly organised by more than 35 clubs together was a testament that hockey will flourish in Manipur in the future and will help in producing great young players.

S Preshyojit also said that today's felicitation programme was to honour the service of Gyanendro who has done much for Thongju Constituency in the field of Hockey.

He also expressed expectation that the Constituency will be able to produce better hockey players in future.

S Preshyojit also handed over 30 hockey sticks and 30 balls to Ningombam Gyanendro.
