20th Winners' Cup SU beat KLASA to clinch title

Imphal, October 31 2015 :
Sagolband United edged out KLASA, Bishnupur by a margin of 2 goals to one to clinch the title of 20th Winners' Cup, organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), today.
In today's final, KLASA, Bishnupur took an early lead after N Dhananjoy struck home in the 15th minute.
On the other hand, Sagolband United fought back hard with a series of attack but failed to find the target in the first half with KLASA taking a 1-0 lead.

After the breather, Sagolband United's effort paid off after Bikram Laishram converted a corner kick from Somorendro Pungsumbam in the 66th minute making the scoreline 1-1.Sagolband United witnessed their winning goal in the last minute after Aboy Manorharmayum found the net in the 89th minute.
KLASA's S Herojit and A Kenejit and Sagolband United's Chandrakanta Kh were cautioned for unsporting behaviour during the match.
Champions Sagolband United were awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a trophy while runner up KLASA received a cash prize of Rs 30,000 .
The cash prizes were donated by Chairman and Managing Director of Babina Group Dr Th Dhabali Singh in memory of his late father Th Birchandra and his late mother Th Maipakpi.
