PCC, ESU script comprehensive wins in N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy

PCC, Mayaikoibi and ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound posted huge group stage wins today in the ongoing 3rd MNCA U-16 Boy's Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2021-22 .
PCC who suffered a narrow 1 wicket loss to YWC-Langthabal in their opening Group B match, banked on an all round performance by Mairembam Lucky Meitei (53 off 62 balls and 3/12 in 6 overs) to seal a huge 102 run victory against TCMDC at YCWO ground, Heinoupok today.

Put in to bat first, PCC were able to stack up a total of 180 runs for 5 in the allotted 30 overs as Mairembam Lucky hit a 62 ball 53 and Laitonjam Anjan managed 34-ball 51 besides 42 run extra.
Sagolshem Rojesh picked two wickets in this innings as Rain Urikhinbam, Laishram Valinda Singh and Phanjoubam Nikesh Singh bagged a wicket each.
PCC, then restricted TCMDC, Thongju to 78 runs for 10 within 25.4 overs for the first win in two matches thanks to brilliant bowling performances from M Lucky (3/12 in 6 overs), Pravin Kumar (2/22 in 5 overs), Takhelmayum Vikash (2/6 in 4 overs) and Lamnganba Nongmaithem (2/2 in 2 overs) .
Doneal Laishram, with 18 runs off 50 balls was the highest scorer for the Thongju team followed by S Rojesh (12) and Th Malemnganba (12).Mairembam Lucky was eventually named man of the match.
Meanwhile at ABA ground, ESU cruised to a 7 wicket win over CYCLONE, Thangmeiband for the second win in three Group C matches.
ESU opted to field first after winning the toss and tactfully skittled CYCLONE out for a paltry total of 84 runs within 26.4 overs courtesy Bishomcha Khundrakpam (3/7 in 4.4 overs) and Sandham Abhinash (3/17 in 4 overs) .
Maverick W added 18 runs and Preethson added the highest 21 for CYCLONE in this innings which witnessed ESU bowlers achieving well with the pace and length.
ESU's Hanjabam Donba Sharma, Soibam Jenit Singh, Hanjabam Naoba Sharma and Wayenbam Winson Meitei also shared a wicket apiece in this disastrous innings for CYCLONE.
H Naoba struck an unbeaten 34 and Sagolshem Ronal fetched 16 runs (not out) to steer ESU to 86 total within 16.2 overs with 7 wickets left in the hand.
Preethson Arubam was the pick of CYCLONE bowlers as he claimed two wickets for 16 runs in 3 overs.
Bishomcha Khundrakpam of ESU was adjudged man of the match.
