Imphal, January 31 2017: State swimmer, Hiren Sagolsem, who represented Maharaj Garibniwaz Memorial, Wangkhei won one silver and two bronze medals in the 1st All India Inter-Club swimming competition 2017 held at GMC Balayogi Aquatic Centre, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Telangana under the aegis of Swimming Federation of India from Jan 26 to 29 .

Braving the cold, Hiren clocked 1:01.37s to win silver in the 100 M freestyle (Group-3) competition held in a water temperature below 5 degree celsius. He also won bronze medals in 200 M free style and 50 M free style.

Hiren is the son of Ajit Sagolsem and Sagolsem (O) Thadoi Sapam of BT Road.
