AR organises football camp in Tengnoupal

Imphal, December 29 2024: Assam Rifles, in partnership with local civil authorities, organised a football camp for children in Chelep village, Tengnoupal district, on December 27, 2024 .

The initiative aimed to steer local youth away from the risks of drug addiction and to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

The camp featured a friendly football match and included the distribution of sports equipment, such as footballs and volleyballs, to encourage sustained engagement in sports.

A total of 60 children, including 20 girls, participated in the event.

The villagers expressed their appreciation for the Assam Rifles' efforts to promote sportsmanship and youth development, particularly against the backdrop of the ongoing ethnic tensions in Manipur, said an IGAR (S) release.
