ARC, MPSC clinch state handball tourney titles

Imphal, January 07 2022: ARC sealed the men's title while MPSC claimed the women's crown in the 45th Senior Men & Women State Level Handball Tournament that wrapped up on Thursday (January 6) .

In the women's final, MPSC outplayed Citizen by a 20-14 margin at Chingarel Tejpur.

N Sunibala shone for the police team with six goals and teammate O Shandhyarani was also impressive, scoring five goals.

Ch Luxmi did her bit with four goals for the winning side and Ksh Apabi contributed three goals while Ng Khomeiton and M Dimple chipped in with one goal apiece.

Citizen's top scorer of the final match was Anjubala (5), followed by Anjali (4), Ronibala (3), Jenila (1) and Ranju (1) .

The men's final saw ARC enjoy a 33-19 drubbing of MPSC as Anupam Choudury led the former with a stunning haul of 11 goals.

Suresh Roy netted six goals, Yaiphaba claimed five goals, and Sanatomba, Lenil and Pravil scored three goals each, with Ratan adding a goal.

MPSC's scorers were N Go-bin (7), H Ingocha (4), Th Hemanta (3), N Saratkumar (2), Y Beeker Roy (1), Th Robi (1) and Kash Mocha (1) .
