Thang-Ta Maheikol strengthen lead at Khelo India State Thang-Ta C'ship

Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom clinched a gold medal on the penultimate day of the Khelo India State Level Thang-Ta Championship 2024-2025, further extending their lead in the overall medal table.
Following their gold medal win on Tuesday, Thang-Ta Maheikol now hold a total of 13 gold, 7 silver, and 1 bronze medal, leading the competition.
KTTSS (Maklang) remain in second place, with 7 gold, 8 silver, and 1 bronze medal, having earned 2 gold medals on the day.
Chandam Jenan Singh emerged as the winner of the +53kg U-14 boys' Phunaba Ama event, securing the 13th gold medal for his team.
Meanwhile, Henthoi Shagolshem earned a silver medal after finishing second in the -37kg U-14 girls' Phunaba Anishuba event.
The day's competition saw MNTT (Heirok) claim 3 gold medals, while KTTSS (Maklang), MES (Thangmeiband), Luwang Thang-Ta Academy (Kongpal), and LKTTS (Kangmong) each earned 2 gold medals.
A total of 437 athletes from 47 Thang-Ta academies across the state are competing in the Khelo India State Level Thang-Ta Championship 2024-2025, organised by SAI NERC, Imphal.
