AR to host 'DGAR U-19 Hockey Tournament' for boys and girls

Imphal, December 05 2024: Assam Rifles, in coordination with Manipur Hockey will be hosting the inaugural DGAR Under-19 Hockey Tournament for both, boys and Girls, at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal West District, from December 7 to 15, 2024 .

The tournament, organized will showcase six men's teams and five women's teams.

The event will provide an apt platform to demonstrate and hone the skills of promising hockey players, said Assam Rifles in a statement.

The matches will be conducted at the renowned Khuman Lampak Stadium.

The event will be utilised by Manipur Hockey to identify and nurture potential players for future national and international competitions, it said.

Senior Officials from Assam Rifles and the MHA anticipate impressive performances from the participants.

The tournament is expected to foster spirit of healthy competition and further promote Hockey in Manipur, it continued.
