1st North East Women's Football League : Assam Rhinos rally to salvage 3-3 draw with Nagaland Wild Hogs

Sunila scored twice to inspire Assam Rhinos a late fightback and a 3 -3 draw with Nagaland Wild Hogs in the 23rd match of the ongoing 1st North East Women's Football League Tournament at SAI ground, Takyel.
Nagaland Wild Hogs had a promising start today dominating the possession against Assam Rhinos and were 2-0 up before the break as Neke K opened the scoring in the 28th minute before H Shangki Konyak found another in the 34th minute.
After the break, Neke K hit another after 55 minutes to make it 3-0.Assam Rhinos who were struggling finally got some reprieve when Sunila pulled back a goal in the 70th minute.
The goal boosted Assam Rhinos morale greatly and Nagaland Wild Hogs conceded another goal when Pakhila converted a chance in the 75th minute to further reduce the deficit.
Sunila then completed her double two minutes away from time to bring Assam Rhinos on level terms as weakened Nagaland defence fumbled again and eventually the two teams headed into the end with the score levelled at 3-3 .
With this, Assam Rhinos completed the league stage with 8 points courtesy 2 wins and 2 draws1 in 7 matches.
Nagaland Wild Hogs are also on 8 points from 2 wins and 2 draws, and still have a match to play with Meghalaya Leopards.
The 24th match between Tripura Pythons and Mizoram Black Bears also ended in a 1-1 draw.
Tripura enjoyed a 1-0 first half lead with Sampili Jamatia scoring the opener in the 32nd minute but Grace H Lalrampari equalised it for Mizoram Black Bears after 57th minutes.
With the result, Tripura finished the league stage with 3 points from 3 draws in 7 matches while Mizoram registered their first point after suffering five straight losses.
